Equity Release Options
There are a number of ways in which you can unlock some of the equity in your property. Ypu may wish downsize to a smaller property, or a lower value property - perhaps by moving to a different area where house prices are lower.
Although this could provide the maximum value from your home, there may be disadvantages such as the hassle, disruption and cost of moving. It could be that you do not wish to move from the area where you currently live.
There is however a solution that allows you to stay in your current home. Equity release plans are now available that allow you to release cash from your home when you need it, whilst at the same time protecting the right to live in it for the rest of your life.

You will need to pay off any outstanding mortgage on your property, either by using some of the proceeds from your equity release plan or from other funds. Once you have dobe this the money you release can be spent as you like. This could be to buy a new vehicle or conservatory, or it xould be used to meet unexpected situations, such as health care.
The equity in your home can help to fund your retirement or provide reassurance that your partner will be financially comfortable when you die.
These schemes can be helpful in certain circumstances but are not suitable for everyone.
